Usually, the hardness of TPE-coated PS material is in the range of 30-70A Shore and the specific gravity is in the range of 0.90-1.3g/cm3. Encapsulated PS products are common series in TPE encapsulation application field. SBS or SEBS can be selected as two substrates. It has good bonding effect, the coated product is scratch-resistant and white, and the hand feeling is exquisite and comfortable.

TPE encapsulated PS material is obtained by secondary injection molding, fixing the injected PS hard plastic product on the encapsulating mold, injecting TPE material onto the surface of the hard plastic product at a suitable temperature, and cooling to obtain the product. The injection molding temperature of encapsulation molding varies according to the hard material of encapsulation. For two materials with similar polarity, only a certain degree of temperature can promote the compatibility of the two materials at the contact surface.
In order to obtain a strong adhesive effect, the injection temperature of TPE-coated PS material is usually about 160-190 degrees Celsius, and the coated ABS material is about 180-220 degrees Celsius. The temperature of that encapsulate PC material is about 180-220 DEG C; The PA nylon material coated with glue is about 220-250 degrees Celsius. For products with large coating area, it is suggested to open a two-color mold, which can improve the coating effect.
