Different countries have different testing standards for food contact materials. China is the testing standard for relevant categories under GB standards. The European Union's universal standard is EC/1935/2004 standard EN1186, but within the European Union, different countries also have differences, such as Germany is LFGB and France is French DGCC RF 2004-64. In addition, the United States is FDA(21CFR.177.2600).

For materials that come into contact with oily or hot foods or beverages, the food grade standards are very strict, and appropriate organic solvents need to be used for testing, such as the n-hexane test of FDA in the United States, the olive oil test of LFGB in Germany, the n-heptane test of Japanese standards, etc. In order to attract customers' attention, many TPE manufacturers claim that their TPE can pass FDA177.2600 n-hexane residue test and can provide reports. Users need to carefully verify. TPE raw materials that need to pass such tests must be imported base materials of high quality, and only those with hardness above 70A can pass. Such food-grade TPE is relatively expensive, and manufacturers' food-grade TPE can pass relevant tests.
