Thermoplastic elastomer TPE and TPR soft adhesive are increasingly used in toy industry. In the application field of toy, which is a traditional soft PVC material, TPR material is winning more favor and trust from consumers by virtue of its better environmental protection, safety and non-toxicity characteristics. Each industry has its own corresponding standards, and as far as the toy industry is concerned, there are also its own special industry standards. Moreover, different toy products have different requirements on the physical and processing properties of TPR soft adhesive.
TPR is actually just an extension of soft PVC resin, only because the compression deformation is greatly improved, thus forming rubber-like PVC. This TPVC can be regarded as a modified PVC product and a substitute for rubber. In the toy industry, TPR has also become a trend to replace PVC. The excellent environmental protection, safety and non-toxicity characteristics also make the replacement speed more obvious.
1. Environmental Protection Performance Although most TPR materials conform to ROHS and EN71-3 testing standards, the testing standards for toy products are still different in different countries or regions. Some requirements do not contain PAHs, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, NP (nonylphenol), etc., and some requirements do not contain SVHC substances of high concern specified by REACH. This requires full consideration of the environmental protection requirements when mixing TPR compound!
2. Good screen printing performance of oil spray painting Most toy products have requirements for screen printing of oil spray painting. In order to obtain good screen printing effect (paint does not fall off when sprayed), the matching of TPR compound and ink paint is very important, and appropriate paint ink should be selected according to the characteristics of TPR.
3. Cracking Resistance of Soft Toys For some soft toys with very soft hardness, appropriate TPR materials should be selected to prevent cracking after processing. In addition, through optimization and perfection of molding process, cracking caused by stress shrinkage can be reduced!
4. Other Requirements for Elasticity Some toy products have high requirements for stretch and tear resistance, while some toy products have good requirements for resilience, etc. In short, appropriate TPR materials shall be provided according to the specific requirements of customers.
5, excellent color matching performance soft rubber toy products are mostly bright and varied colors, and have higher requirements for color matching of TPR materials. A qualified TPR brand should have good color pink agent diffusion performance and be conducive to better coloring of toner, so as to achieve the color matching effect of bright color and uniform color as far as possible!
6, good molding and processing performance TPR material has moderate fluidity, convenient molding and processing, injection molding temperature of 170~190℃, and is not prone to shrinkage, burrs and other molding appearance problems.
