How to select TPE package with different properties and hardness

1. Different substrates should select TPE, TPR coated materials of different materials. For example, the material wrapped in PP can not include ABS, the material wrapped in ABS can not include PA, and so on. The plastic packaging TPE on the market can be divided into the following categories: PP packaging, ABS packaging, PETG packaging, PC packaging, PA packaging, and so on.
2. TPE, TPR coating thickness. In most plastic molding applications, the wall thickness range of 1.5-3 .0 mm will ensure good adhesion effects. If the TPE rubber is too thin, injection molding is more difficult, the adhesion strength is low, and the feel is also poor. If the TPE gel is too thick, on the one hand, the cost is higher, and on the other hand, it is prone to shrinkage, bubbles, and other defects. The wall thickness of TPE rubber should be uniform as far as possible to achieve the best forming period. The transition between different wall thicknesses should be gradual to reduce the problems caused by fluid flow, such as gas patterns and bubbles.
3. Radians(with a minimum radius of 0.5 mm) should be used at sharp corners to reduce local stress. Deep closed air chambers or arched parts that can not be vented should be avoided, and sufficient exhaust tanks(0.015-0 .025 mm) can be added to the end of the TPE gel position if necessary. Insufficient exhaust may result in poor gas, burning glue, and insufficient adhesive relay.
4. It is very helpful to improve the adhesion effect of TPE by adding a buckle position on the substrate or doing some well-designed deeper concave and convex parts.
5. Mold surface treatment:
1) The mold should be polished to obtain a smooth or clear surface.
2) In order to produce the dull appearance of the thermosetting rubber surface, a rough mold surface is required. In general, the rough surface produced by the mold cavity after discharge processing(EDM) will produce a good workpiece appearance and make it easier to demold. Grinding methods such as steam injection, sandblasting or pellets, and chemical etching can also be used to produce surfaces with different gloss and appearance.
3) To facilitate demoulding, a demoulding coating may be applied to the mold cavity or core, for example, after it has been sprayed or discharged(EDM), followed by a coating of PTFE(PTFE) impregnated nickel.
6. Avoid using demoulding agents for substrates. The base surface should be clean and avoid contact with dust as much as possible.
7. The processing temperature of TPE, TPR packaging adhesive should be based on the measured melting temperature of the adhesive, not on the display temperature of the injection molding machine.
