Generally, the hardness of TPE encapsulated PS material is between 30-70A and the specific gravity is between 0.90-1.3g/cm3. Encapsulated PS products are a common series in the application field of TPE encapsulation. You can choose SBS or SEBS. Has good bonding effect, and the coated product is scratch-resistant, delicate and comfortable.
TPE encapsulated PS products include razor handles, tool handles, baby tableware handles, electronic accessories, hardware tools, fitness equipment, electric tool handles, etc. TPE encapsulated PS material does not contain halogen, nonylphenol NP, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon Pahs and plasticizer 16P and 6P, which is in line with ROHS,REACH latest directive and EN71 relevant directive standards of toy industry.
TPE encapsulated PS material is obtained by secondary injection molding, fixing the injected PS hard plastic product on the encapsulating mold, then injecting TPE material to the surface of the hard plastic product at a proper temperature, and cooling to obtain the product. The injection temperature of overmolding is different according to the hard rubber material. For two materials with similar polarity, only when the temperature reaches a certain level can the two materials reach a certain compatibility at the contact surface.
Generally, the injection temperature of TPE encapsulated PS material is about 160-190℃, and that of encapsulated ABS material is about 180-220℃. The temperature of encapsulated PC material is about 180-220℃. PA-coated nylon material is about 220-250℃. It is recommended to open two-color mold for products with large coating area, which can improve the coating effect.
